Our CSAI assignment was to create a makey makey picture and connect it to our computer. My idea for my makey makey picture is warriors: The Great Battle. I f you don’t know what warriors is, it is a humungus sirice of books that is based on wild cats making a living in the forest. They have 4 groups of cats, and they fight a lot. In the Great Battle it is all the groups versus the bad cats that come from the Dark Forest. (The dark forest is like the opposite of Heaven) The cats in my story are the cats that have lived to tell the tell the tale of the battle. Theere are some cats who are older, and some cats who are older.
When I was doing my makey makey project, I realized that the big thing that I was trying to do was a little to big. I really wanted to make all the cats have 5 different backdrops, but I didn’t have enough time. I discovered that the hardest thing for me when I was doing my project was the waits. In Scratch, there are wait commands. I have in my cod to say “Wait 6 seconds” or “Wait 14 seconds”. While one sprite was waiting, the other sprite was speaking. I had to get the timing just right so that the speaking didn’t overlap and the speak wasn’t too distanced. Sometimes it still isn’t right, but It is pretty close.
Originally, I was going to do 6 different sprites, but because I did so much on my first three, I didn’t have time to do the other six. So I had to delete them. I was okay with that, but I am still a little disappointing I wasn’t able to do the rest. I think that If I would ever do it again that I would start earlier and not wait until the week before the assignment was due.
My favorite part is the part at the end, where the blue-grey cat finally starts to speak- I don’t want to give it away, so you can see for yourself! If you are doing my project without the picture, first press the up arrow, then the down arrow, then the right arrow, then the left arrow for the best part. I hope you like my project!
